AUTOMATED SYSTEMS FOR THE AVIATION INDUSTRY

This is a real case scenario of an aviation service provider from a prominent international airport in the US.

THE PROBLEM

After several meetings between executives of an Aviation Company and CONTROL IMS, It was possible to determine that:

The aviation company did not have an automated fuel management system for the small vehicles and equipment.
The aviation company had inaccurate fuel dispensing records.
The aviation company needed to regulate the fuel dispensing per vehicle.

THE PROPOSAL

To implement an integrated IoT system to control the fuel operation. The proposed system combined:

Fuel Dispensing Controller: The installation of 5 fuel controllers (one for each mobile tanker) to control the dispensing process to vehicles and equipment.
RFID Tag: The Installation of 300 RFID Tags to automatically identify the vehicles and equipment during the fule dispensing process.
CONTROL IMS Software: The configuration of IOTSOL to display the fuel dispensing information online. IOTSOL is a scalable and robust cloud base software platform that allows integration with third-party ERP.

THE RESULT

The aviation provider improved operational efficiency with full-time visibility over a single cloud application platform.
The aviation provider began to register accurate fuel information (pump, time, date, asset number, equipment name, make, type; department, cost center, authorized fuel type, driver, quantity, etc).
The aviation provider got the right information to complete its billing (daily, weekly, and monthly) to internal customers.
The aviation provider improved the security of the fuel transaction data with users’ access control by roles; automatic software security updates, data recovery plans, and automated backups.
The aviation provider improved the security of unattended fuel dispensing. Customers from the aviation provider have a guarantee of the fuel dispensed to their equipment.
