AUTOMATED FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS FOR THE MINING SECTOR

This is a real case of a mining company.

THE PROBLEM

After several meetings with the company and information gathered in conversations and site visits, we identified the following situations:

The company did not have control of the fuel dispensing to machinery and equipment in the field.
The company did not have fuel levels monitoring in their supply tanks.
The company did not have a system to control the fuel dispensing at the stations.
The company did not have a system to complete the reconciliation of the fuel consumption.
The company needed a system that could be managed online to replace their manual control and fuel registry books.

THE PROPOSAL

A comprehensive high-quality IoT system. For this specific project, CONTROL IMS defined an integrated solution that combined:

Fuel Dispensing Controllers: Installation of five fuel dispensing controllers at the station and one in the mobile tanker.
RFID Tags: Installation of 200 RFID Tag for identification of light and heavy vehicles during the fuel dispensing process.
Level Monitoring Sensors: Installation of five fuel level sensors to monitor the inventory on the supply tanks.
CONTROL IMS Software: The configuration of IOTSOL to display the fuel inventory information from all stations online. IOTSOL is a scalable and robust cloud base software platform that allows integration with third-party ERP.

THE RESULT

The company improved the fuel dispensing security with the use of multiple authentication parameters during the fuel transactions.
The company improved the fuel dispensing process in the field with automation and the consolidation of transactional data online without the need for signatures and manual verifications.
The company improved the fuel dispensing time with the use of RFID technology for vehicle identification.
The company improved the fuel purchasing process with the use of low or critical-level alerts from the supply tanks.
